I greet you once again in the Name of Jesus!

We have been looking at ten signs that I believe point us to the fact that we are living in the time of the end. I want to back up and remind you of something that we said at the very outset of this particular line of teaching, and that is the fact that we see both prophetic milestones and prophetic stepping stones. The ten things that we have been looking at are stepping stones. They are happenings that are bringing us to the next milestone, which I believe will be the rapture of the Church.

While there are several such stepping stones, as we have seen, I believe that it is very important to keep an eye on the Middle East, and especially of course the Nation of Israel. Jesus said in Matthew 24, “Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. [Matt 24:32 NKJV] The “fig tree” is understood by most prophecy scholars to be representative of Israel. He further stated as recorded by Luke, Then He spoke to them a parable: “Look at the fig tree, and all the trees. [Luke 21:29 NKJV] Jesus’ statement, “all the trees“, refers to the other Nations of prophecy. There are several key prophetic nations, and we see them beginning to bloom.

We come to our tenth and final sign, our final stepping stone, pointing to the fact that we are indeed living in the time of the end.

Isaiah 14:29

states, Do not rejoice, all you of Philistia,
      Because the rod that struck you is broken;
      For out of the serpent’s roots will come forth a viper,
      And its offspring will be a fiery flying serpent
. [Isa. 14:29 NKJV]

The Palestinians desire an independent state. Those living in the land prior to 1948 believe the Jews possess the land illegally. Most Muslims believe Israel is a modern Nation established by the West. They deny the Jews ever had a Nation, and they deny there was ever a Jewish Temple on the Temple Mount platform. This is the reason that the Muslims hate the West, by the way. It is because of our relationship with the Nation of Israel. I get amused and disgusted all at the same time when I hear a politician suggest that what is needed is a, “two state” solution. That would never work, primarily because the Palestinians don’t want it to work.

In reality, the true Palestinian state should be located in the modern nation of Jordan, and not Israel. When we consider that Isaac’s son, Esau, is identified as Edom, and the Edomites are linked to those people who have lived in Israel for hundreds of centuries, then the remedy is clear. The country of Jordan is actually the true Palestinian state. If the Palestinian people want self-rule, a government, and financial stability, they should secure a large portion of Jordan and build their state in that region. I don’t believe that is ever going to happen. Why?

This is because the rich Persian Gulf states use the Palestinians like a pawn on a chess board in order to put Israel in check, hoping one day to declare checkmate and leave Israel with no possible way out. When we stand back and look at fairly recent history, the plan is clear: the Palestinian Authority (PLO), under the late Yasser Arafat, was given millions of dollars to help the Palestinian people. Instead, the senseless leader bought personal property for himself and his cronies in Europe. With money for the Palestinian people, he purchased new Mercedes-Benz automobiles for his family members.

Instead of bringing hope and jobs, and rebuilding the refugee camps into clean livable communities, he chose to keep the cash and keep the Palestinians in poverty. I don’t really believe that the current leadership will be much different. The strategy is that if the Palestinian people sense hopelessness, poverty, and gloom, Israel will always be bloomed. This mentality of gloom is also a hot breeding ground for recruiting new suicide bombers. People who have freedom, education, and jobs are less likely to follow some half-wit imam who is twisting the Koran for his own benefit.

The Palestinian conflict must come to a head. The combination of these ten factors leads me to believe we are in the time of the end.

The Weekly Word is found in Matthew 24:34, 35. Here the Bible says,

34 Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place. 35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away. [Matt. 24:34, 35 NKJV]

Until next time, this is THE WEEKLY WORD.
